Share for Advertising God's Sake

Through the sharing of ideas and theories we can all learn to be a greater force within the digital space. And every time somebody advances the game it makes it easier for the rest of us. Because the one thing that makes an apprehensive client comfortable with taking a first step is being second into the water.

Foot Race

Me to clients after a digital idea I presented to them a year ago made headlines in the trades: This whole digital/social media thing is like an arms race. When I bring you an idea and you love it, you can't drag your feet.

NEW ERA

This is going to be heaven for creatives. It’s not enough to dwell on one, two or three attributes of a product or service. Now every idea needs to be a big idea. All of our clients aren’t there yet. But they’re coming. And the later they are to the party. The harder they’ll have to come to catch up. This is going to be a wild ride.

Mad Men to Wing Men

In advertising we used to seduce consumers into relationships with brands. With the coming of social media we now have to learn to bring brands and consumers together on some middle ground. And it’s not going to be enough that it’s love at first sight, we have to hang around and make sure the relationship is sustainable.

The Power is in the Consumers Hands

The bulk of consumers still don't realize how much power they have now that everybody can speak to the masses with the push of a button. After receiving horrible service at a restaurant, and even worse responses to my complaint, I found myself telling the manager, "You know, everybody at this table has a facebook account!" You should have seen the look on his face. This social media thing is going to force businesses to deliver what they promise.
